Hand-thrown in Bristol by Nicholas Dover, this rounded stoneware cup is an elegant younger sibling to the buff stoneware mug. Tactile and lovely to hold, make this your new cosy best friend across the colder months.
Description
This is a truly skilled piece of craftsmanship, hand thrown on the wheel with a traditional pulled handle, the walls of the cup are slender and the handle elegant. It is light and incredibly tactile and rests nicely in the palm of your hand - perfect for cupping your favourite drink and settling down for 5 minutes of peace and quiet.
The glaze on this cup is a favourite of ours as its milky background gives way to autumnal shades of rusty red. A true beauty!
Nicholas' maker's mark - his signature if you will - is visible on the underside of all of his pieces. His work is inspired by Scandinavian and Japanese pottery styles, using minimalism and natural forms, with deep earthy tones. This cup and all of Dovers' pieces are executed with beautiful precision and will enhance any morning cuppa.
