A comfortable and stylish eco face mask made from natural materials and dyed using nettle leaves.

Dyed by hand using nettle leaves and traditional methods. The nettle plant has long been used for medicinal purposes and is very high in essential minerals. Using the leaves as a natural dye will produce earthy khaki hues.

Using a natural dying process means minimal waste and full traceability, working in small batches ensures quality as well as uniqueness, no two dye baths are exactly the same so subtle differences occur naturally. Natural dyed masks means you are not breathing through chemically dyed and processed fabrics.

These masks are reversible, one side is organic hemp and the other side is organic silk. The hemp comes from Europe sourced from small farmers to ensure traceability and quality, this canvas type material catches and traps big droplets. The silk comes from an organic mulberry orchard in Hertfordshire who use natural methods to produce their fabrics and are the only silk producer in the UK. Two layers of this finely woven silk catch any smaller particles and gives you double the protection.

Hand sewn using a vintage non electric (hand crank) Singer sewing machine so no electric is required in the making of this mask.

Along the nose there is an recyclable aluminium strip which is adjustable so you can wear it comfortable and securely. The straps are made from an eco-elastic which is a biodegradable elastic made from organic cotton and natural rubber. The teal coloured thread used to sew the mask is naturally dyed organic cotton which comes on wooden spools.

Each mask comes with a handy storage pouch and a soft organic hemp cord which can be attached as a neck strap if desired.
