By Will Priestley
The wooden bowls are made using sustainably sourced natural wood.
Will first axes out his bowl blanks and then uses a foot-powered pole lathe (he built himself) to turn them. By keeping these tools as sharp as possible and with his experienced technique, the wood has a lovely rustic 'tool finish'.
All of the wood comes from within 10 miles of Bristol, UK and is ethically and sustainably sourced, being a by-product of conservation work that would otherwise be burned or left to rot. Will uses hardwoods native to the British Isles, predominantly cherry, sycamore, birch, elm and beech, but really anything he can get his hands on!
Finished with linseed oil and milk paint.
