Kay Morgan

Kay Morgan

After completing a degree in Constructed Textiles in 2001 and then working in the retail industry, Kay decided to set up her own business in 2007 concentrating on making leather purses and handbags reusing and upcycling vintage fabrics and clothing.

Through the process of making bags Kay noticed more scrap fabrocs and materials being made, she decided to make use of these remnants and get herself and her working process as close to zero waste as possible. This ethos has become a central pillar of her business and now she only uses reclaimed leather, which is bought as a waste product from the manufacturing process. All Kay’s products are handmade at her home studio in Bristol, every piece is created using hand tools and assembled by hand, this means each piece goes through a strict quality control before leaving the studio. Kay enjoys experimenting with colours (both contrasting and complimentary!) and shapes, creating graphic, colourful jewellery which is lightweight, easy to wear and timeless in style. Her aim is to create work which is both bold and bright yet still keeping a simple geometric style. Every Kay Morgan item is created by hand and individually constructed using vintage hand tools, with every detail being carefully considered ensuring each item is both functional, beautiful and tactile.
