Phoebe Smith Ceramics

Phoebe is a ceramic artist from Bristol. Working in stoneware on the potter’s wheel, her creative practice takes two avenues. Firstly, exploring the functionality of everyday tableware: pieces for the home to be used daily. And secondly, developing her range of one-off pieces. Both aspects of her practice give her the space to explore her creativity and challenge her skills as a maker.

Sustainability

There is very little waste in pottery as raw clay can be reclaimed and endlessly recycled. Working in small batches means that Phoebe's work is carefully considered, and made with intention. The firing process does require quite a lot of energy but Phoebe is looking into investing in solar panels for her roof.
