This lampshade features an original cyanotype print from designer Claire Cartwright, in beautiful indigo tones.
Description
Part of Claire's Cyanotype collection. Individually hand-printed onto paper under the summer sun and developed in a water bath. This classic drum shaped lampshade fits with both sizes of her Wick lamp bases and whilst also working well as a pendant shade hanging from above.
Cyanotype is a 19th century photographic method of printing, producing a beautiful cyan-blue print. Also known as a ‘blue print’ or ‘sun print’. Traditionally the process was used as a simple way to reproduce photographs, maps, and technical drawings.
•Each lampshade is unique and are individually cyanotype printed so slight variations may occur
•Despite being a light sensitive process, once the print is fixed they are very light fast and should not fade.
•Fitting: E27, with B22 reducer. (Will fit EU and UK lamp holders)
•Lamp base sold separately
