A6 sized printed greetings card with kraft envelope
Eostre (eːostre) is the West Saxon/Mercian name for the Germanic goddess who gave her name to Eosturmonaþ, or Eostre month, which later became the Christian Easter.
She’s linked with classic Easter symbols of hares and eggs, and the various forms of her name appear to derive from the Proto-Indo-European root words for dawn, daybreak and glow - as does the modern English word ‘east’.
