Description
Hilda takes great pride in selecting the materials she uses for her projects from the most ethical sources possible.
This particular piece is woven from a mix of wool from West Yorkshire and Rooster yarns. The grey coloured wool is an un-dyed wool and is100% Shetland wool. Shetland wool is an incredibly natural and sustainable fibre, and is world renowned for its fineness and warmth. Shetland sheep graze on the islands' hills and beaches eating wild heather and seaweed. This diet, along with the not-so-great weather, makes Shetland wool soft, strong and warm.
The un-dyed paler yarn is from Rooster yarns. This yarn uses 100% Bluefaced Leicester superwash wool from sheep in the British Isles. The Bluefaced Leicester sheep breed is well known for producing some of the finest British yarns – it’s wonderfully soft (26 micron) and has a characteristic lustre or silkiness, making it wonderful to work with. BFL superwash DK is made with 100% superwashed BFL wool.
The scarf has been pre-washed.
Gently cold wash and dry flat. Do not tumble dry, reshape whilst damp.
