These handwoven cushions radiate the warmth, care and skill that was woven into them by Hilda from Honest Weaves. The contrast of the summer yellow weave against the red and pink hues of the decorative patterns remind us of a warm sunset. Designed for your ultimate comfort after a hard day - plus, they're gorgeous to look at, too.
Description
Let's start with the inside. Inside this cushion is the softest and bounciest British wool that is cased in a natural cotton cover. This ethically-supplied wool makes it irresistible to cosy up against.
The beautiful cover is not just a case, it’s a woven work of art that has been created by hand, thread-by-thread on an eight shaft countermarch loom. Using the ancient craft of weaving, Hilda from Honest Weaves sits at her loom and guides each thread to create her textile treasures. The warm yellow threads are woven with Manos del Uruguay yarn.
Manos del Uruguay is a non-profit organisation that supports local women to make a living while remaining in their local village and raising their families. They are renowned for their fantastic colours which have become their trademark and have been producing beautiful, natural fibre, hand-dyed yarns since 1968.
The deep red and sunset pink threads are from a range that are now discontinued, so these cushions are truly one-of-a-kind.
The backing fabric is 100% Organic Cotton and is from a Welsh company who partners with a women's co-operative in Kerala, India to hand weave the fabric in small batches.
The entire cushion cover from front to back is handwoven in the UK and blurs traditional craft and contemporary interior design - functional artwork at it’s finest.
