A beautiful hand carved woodcut print on handmade Lokta paper from Bristol-based artist Rosanna Morris.
Description
This particular print was carved from plywood that was found near the thames in East London.
All aspects of Rosanna Morris' prints are completed by hand - from the paper to the printing press named Bouboulina that her husband made. Rosanna draws out each design in pencil and ink, and then transfers it on to reclaimed wood or lino. She hand carves the design using a selection of traditional tools, mindfully and slowly as any 'mistake' can not be rubbed out. The result: an uplifting print with rich texture. You can physically see the making process due to the mark making and relief from the printing press.
