Used since the Stone Age, pestle and mortars are handy in the kitchen. From crushing peppercorns, nuts and garlic to grinding spices to powder, there are so many uses for these tools.
The mortar can also be used as a bowl - perfect as a little fruit bowl or bread bowl.
Each pestle and mortar has a unique grain of wood as well slight variations in colour.

Clean by wiping clean with a damp cloth. Never submerge or leave soaking in water. Re-oil when necessary. Deep clean with lemon juice and salt rubbed into the surface and wipe clean.
