An organic and beautiful celebration of nature, this handmade original linocut is printed on Nepalese 'Lokta' paper.
Description
A beautiful original lino cut by Bristol based artist Becca Thorne based on a legend of a huge boar-like beast that supposedly roamed wild through the Forest of Dean in the early 1800's. Farmers set out to find and kill the great beast, some stories report them as being successful and others say they found no trace...
Since the early 2000's wild boar have become prevalent in the forest once more, bringing with them a more diverse woodland rich in invertebrates, birds and small mammals, improving the health of the forest as a whole.
The Beast of Dean is printed in black ink on Nepalese Lokta paper and features the great boar himself alongside Ivy, oak and cow parsley, a badger and an owl.
