Rosanna Morris' hand carved, wood cut print 'wheelbarrow' is a beautiful and wholesome addition to any home.
Description
This print draws inspiration from Rosanna's desire to cultivate her own food while living in London and the beauty of autumn harvests. The design was carved from reclaimed wood and printed on handmade Nepalese Lokta paper. Rosanna uses non toxic professional printmaking inks and wraps all her prints in plastic free packaging.
All aspects of Rosanna's original prints are printed by hand from the paper to the printing press named Bouboulina, that her husband made. Rosanna draws out each design in pencil and ink, and then ransfers ut on to reclaimed wood or lino. She hand carves the design using a selection of traditional tools, mindfully and slowly as any 'mistake' can not be rubbed out. The result: an uplifting print with rich texture. You can physically see the making process due to the mark making and relief from the printing press.
All of Rosanna's prints are printed by hand and every single one of them is a unique reproduction. As such, subtle variations will occur from print to print.

Lokta is a native plant of the Himalayan foothills found above 3000 metres. It is a sustainable and renewable resource. Plants are cropped above ground level and can be re-harvested after 3-4 years. The papers are made using the traditional Nepalese floating mould method and sun dried on the frame.
