Description

Absorbent, compostable, hygienic and durable - these sponges make a brilliant switch from petrochemical synthetic sponges. Ideal for using on kitchen surfaces, as well as for cleaning your bathroom, they're a super solution to all your eco-cleaning needs. 

Retaining up to 10 times its own weight in water, each environmentally-friendly sponge is 100% biodegradable, and plastic free. 

They're made in the UK from wood pulp from redundant wood that's been harvested for other purposes from a plantation in Germany. The sponges will break down in around 3 months in a well-maintained compost heap. Each sponge can be expected to last several months before they begin to degrade. 

Aim to keep these sponges dry between uses. Sterilise by soaking in boiling water before microwaving to kill bacteria.

These 'moist' sponges have magnesium chloride and a light biocide (mould inhibitor) added. It keeps the sponge moist and bacteria free until first usage. Once rinsed out, these components disappear and the sponge will then go hard when drying out. It will be reactivated again when wet.
