Hand-thrown in Bristol by Nicholas Dover, these speckled stoneware 'Yunomi' style handless cups are a true joy to behold: fantastically light in the hand, with a turned base and beautiful blue/green 'Grain' glaze.
Description
Nicholas' maker's mark - his signature if you will - is visible on the underside of the cup, in the centre of the turned foot ring. The bottom section of the cup is left raw, the speckles of basalt from the clay clearly visible, which provides a beautiful break in texture from the glossy glaze above. The glaze itself is almost like a waterfall scene, with beautiful tonal changes throughout the surface of the cup.
